this is the beginning

so after thinking about posting a blog or not, i came to the conclusion that i would do it. the reason for this is, that i am really interested in music (like so many other of us) and that i would like to introduce you to bands that you may already know, but most important to bands that you might not know, but which are worth to be aware of. this means that every once in a while i will post a blog about bands i am currently listening to!

so what was lately spinning in my record player? i recently enjoyed very much the new album from New Found Glory (www.myspace.com/newfoundglory)! one week ago these pop-punk heavyweight veterans released their ardently awaited new longplayer entitled "Not Without A Fight". i remember listening to nfg back then when they just released "Sticks And Stones", but during the years i somehow lost interested in them. but lately i took delight in pop-punk, pop-hardcore and pop-mosh bands, so it was obvious that nfg came back to my mind. i bought almost their entire back-catalog and now, one week ago, i got the new full-length. and i wasn't disappointed by it. on "Not Without A Fight", the band is combining the heavyness and recklessness from their early works with the melancholy of their last two efforts. the result out of it is very sweet, because songs like "don't let her down", "listen to your friends" or "47" with their gangshouts will stuck in your head for days or even weeks! so if you like bands like Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong or A Day To Remember (at least the poppier parts), you will dig New Found Glory too!

if you want to check out a band in the vein of NFG, you definitively should try the band called Fight Fair (www.myspace.com/fightfair). these five dudes from san diego released their ep last year on triple crown records and raised some attention with it! the songs of that ep are catchy and i think, we can expect an interesting full-length from them!
